Especially to my dear sisters, girls and women, single and married…
In this age where perfect bodies, stylish dressing and flawless skin are glorified, it is easy to despair in the bid to match up to that standard of perfection.
Lie: I am ugly
This lie is based on the idea that beauty is determined by outward features. The truth is that beauty is determined by the inward character qualities of the heart, such as kindness, compassion, attentiveness, generosity and purity.
Charm is deceitful and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. (Proverbs 31:30)
Beauty is not the outward adorning of pleating the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel, but let is be the hidden person of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. (1 Peter 3:3-4)
