Pesto Recipe

Good recipes are meant to be shared 😉


2 cups fresh basil leaves, packed

1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan-Reggiano or Romano Cheese

1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

1/3 cup pine nuts or walnuts

3 medium sized garlic cloves, minced

Salt and freshly ground black pepper

1. Combine the basil in with the pine nuts, pulse a few times in a food processor. (If you’re using unchopped walnuts, pulse a few times first before adding the basil). Add garlic, pulse again.

2. Slowly add olive oil in a constant stream while food processor is on. Add cheese and pulse again. Add salt and pepper.

Makes one cup.


As you can see, I layered all the ingredients in my blender cup like a mini parfait. Obviously, I did not follow the instructions and just pulsed everything up at one go. (It turned out OK) 🙂
