When a Former Student Remembers You

It makes you feel valued, cherished…

Especially when you are so far away from home and sometimes feel forgotten and irrelevant to the people back home.

It’s nice to be remembered, and missed.

Goodbye, For Now

I hate goodbyes.

This will be our “final” goodbye as a courting couple. God willing, we will be married early next year.

Moments before he walked into the departure gate, we held each other and I cried.

Missing him hurts.

But the reality of leaving home is also starting to sink in slowly.

The next time we find ourselves at the departure gate, he will no longer be walking in alone. I will be walking in together with him.

That time, I will find myself walking away from dearly beloved ones, glancing back to catch the last few glimpses before everything and everyone becomes a blur behind those tears…

The Fear of God

The most important thing in life is to fear God. I always knew it in my head but now my spirit knows for sure…

This election fever has really opened my eyes to how damaging things can be when there is no fear of God. Doesn’t Mr. G or Mr. L fear the judgment of God should they meet their Maker tonight? My heart grieves at how bribery is so openly done and NOTHING is done about it. What has happened to law and order in our country? The very people who are supposed to help uphold the law and maintain justice are turning a blind eye to this evil acts while they themselves receive bountiful profits, at the expense of the poor and needy.

The fear of the Lord leads to life, and the absence of it leads to death. Spiritual death and also the death of our nation… O Lord spare our nation! Open the eyes of the blind and shed your light and truth. Put such fear in the people, good fear, that they will obey the voice of their conscience rather than the temptations of the flesh.

My heart grieves… People can’t you see the truth???????????

God sees… Aren’t you afraid????? Is it worth it to gain the world and lose your soul????

Luke 21:5-38

Excerpts from the passage that I believe to be timely for Malaysia in this season…

v9 And when you hear of wars and tumults, do not be terrified, for these things must first take place, but the end will not be at once.

v14-15 Settle it therefore in your minds, not to meditate beforehand how to answer, for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict.

v18 Not a hair of your head will perish.

v19 By your endurance you will gain your lives.

v28 Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.

v34 But watch yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly like a trap.

While these passages may speak of Christ’s coming, these passages encourage me to be brave at this point of time. I worry not for myself, but for those in the front lines fighting. The sanctity of lives are no longer respected and evil is prevailing. I fear for my country. But one thing I know, nothing can thwart God’s plan and nobody can escape God’s wrath when evil prevails…
